Job Description:
Archway Construction Ltd., located at Unit 309A - 8988 Fraserton Court, Burnaby, BC, V5J 5H8 urgently requires one Permanent & Full Time Carpenter. We welcome and encourage Youth, New immigrants, and Aboriginal people to apply.
Job duties:
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Maintain, repair and renovate wooden structures in residential & commercial establishments.
• Build foundations and beams, lay subflooring, erect, walls, operate power tools etc.
• Supervise other workers.
Job Requirements:
Education: Completion of Secondary School is required.
Experience: Minimum two years of experience in the relevant field is required.
Language: English is required.
Number of Positions: 1
Wage - $31.00 per hour for 40 hours per week along with 4% Vacation Pay.
Work Location: Various locations in Lower Mainland.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Tight deadlines, Large workload, Walking, Bending, Crouching, Kneeling, physically demanding, standing for extended periods.
Work site environment: Noisy, Dusty, Hot, Cold.
