DRIFTWOOD RESTAURANT LTD. was founded in Nanaimo, BC, and is the core member of the Driftwood Restaurant Group on Vancouver Island. The restaurant features captivating oriental ambience, fresh, hand-crafted Chinese cuisine, All-You-Can-Eat buffets, as well as local menus that are tailored to the community. The restaurant now is offering dine-in, takeout and delivery services. Currently, the Driftwood Restaurant Group has 7 members and is aiming to grow into 10 in the following 2 years. Aligning with our business development plan, we are now hiring a dedicated financial professional to lead us to financial.
Currently, the Driftwood Restaurant Group comprises seven outstanding members, and we harbor ambitions of expanding our family to a total of ten establishments within the next two years. In line with our strategic growth plan, we are actively seeking a dedicated financial professional to lead us on a journey towards financial excellence.
Job Summary
This individual will play a vital role in optimizing financial performance, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to facilitate the growth and success of Driftwood Nanaimo and the Driftwood Restaurant Group as a whole.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the restaurant founder and shareholders to develop financial plans, and expansion projections and offer strategic guidance on the financial operations that align with the restaurant's overall business goals and expansion objectives.
• Develop and execute financial policies and procedures, create financial models to ensure that all financial operations are streamlined and optimized and to set a standard for other sister members and future locations.
• Develop and manage the restaurant's budget, including revenue projections, expense forecasts, and cash flow planning to monitor performance against the financial goals.
• Conduct a financial analysis of the restaurant's profitability, ROI, and overall financial health and provide insights into the restaurant's financial performance and suggest areas to improve.
• Generate accurate and timely financial performance summaries and reports to decision makers and investors.
• Analyze and monitor cost control systems and procedures, including food and beverage costs, labor costs, and overhead expenses and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality is essential.
• Evaluate the need for capital investments, such as equipment upgrades or renovations. Assessing the return on investment for these projects.
• Communicate with the restaurant's shareholders and potential investors to inform restaurant financial performance, growth prospects, and investment opportunities and addressing investor inquiries and concerns promptly.
• Coordinate with the shareholders to seek and assess the profit potential of targeted restaurant, analyze the financial status and related risks and opportunities, negotiate with sellers on price, payment terms, contract terms, and assist in the smooth integration into the existing financial model.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum a bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, commerce or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of senior managerial experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activities.
