Innov8 (www.innov8.ca) located at 575 Bay Street, Victoria, BC, V8T 1P5 has three full time and permanent positions for a Copier/Printer/Plotter Technician Specialists to provide superior customer service to our Innov8 clients around the Victoria and Vancouver Island area in British Columbia.
The service provided to our clients includes efficient repair, maintenance and cleaning of network printers, prompt service response times, and courteous customer interaction.
Duties
• Provides technical support to customers in solving complex technical product problems, such as hardware, software and network problems
• Identifies, resolves and communicates solutions to customers
• May conduct on-site training for customers
• Customizes and installs software, hooks up equipment to customer networks
• Provides technical consultation to sales professionals during the sales cycle
• May participate in product reviews and testing
• Receives general direction/reference for complex or highly intricate problems
• Works under minimal supervision
• Regularly contributes ideas for product improvements based on field observations
• Shares technical solutions with technical team
• Maintain equipment in an assigned territory, including all preventative maintenance requirements, as defined by current standards
• Provide customers with the quality products and services consistent with their requirements
• Respond to customer calls in a prompt and efficient manner
• Service and maintain assigned product with the most cost-efficient methods
• Follow Contact protocol with Dispatch
• Communicate with Dispatch and FSM on a regular basis concerning all aspects of service (i.e. product information, customer concerns, parts problems, etc.)
• Submit all Service Reports in a timely fashion
• Maintain parts inventory and order parts as necessary
• Maintain all Innoiv8 properties, tools, manuals, etc., in proper condition
• Attend meetings arranged by the respective FSM
• Attend Product Training courses and meet technical requirements;
• Follow company and departmental policies, goals and objectives; co-operating with all aspects of the business (i.e. sales, shipping/receiving, administration, inventory, etc.)
• Review equipment performance reports and bulletins
• Install delivered equipment
• Fill out performance reports on unusual equipment problems
• Other tasks as assigned by the FSM
• Accountable to repair machines they are trained on
• Accountable for completing a defined number of service calls to customer satisfaction
• Train junior technicians
Experience requirements
• Several years of experience
• Must have advance knowledge of Canon, Oce Large Format and Production Printing Equipment
• Must be able to provide Technical Training on the Product line to support local Training initiatives
• Must be able to Provide Software support for Technical Staff and clients
Other requirements
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with people in all levels of the organization and its customers
• Strong analytical skills, complemented with superior diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Strong electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude
• Strong organizational skills
• Organize territory effectively to minimize travel time and maximize on number of clients to service
• Fluent in English
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
Working Conditions
• Travel, primarily within an assigned geographic territory (Vancouver Island)
• Physical demands at client site:
o Frequent crouching and bending down to service equipment
o Frequent reaching with hands and arms into machine
o Occasional pulling and pushing machine out to suitable space to open machine and service
o Frequent contact with customers walking around and providing explanation about problem
o Occasional awkward, cramped spaces and body position to service equipment
o Occasional lifting of equipment, paper trays, assemblies
o Occasional low lighting conditions
o Frequent visual inspection of equipment
Wages and Benefits
• The wage is $30 per hour
