Job Summary:

Freight Masters Logistics has a vacancy for a freight forwarding supervisor of LCL Product. You will supervise, plan, assign, and review engaged employees' work, provide leadership and direction, and monitor the team's performance. The ideal candidate strongly understands customer retention and team building and has a keen eye for detail.

Duties and responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

• Providing direction and leadership and monitoring the LCL (Less than Container Load) team;
• Supervising, planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of employees engaged in the following duties: shipping, receiving import documents, dispatching and distributing; coordinating production work; dispatching crews; scheduling transportation crews and routes; and other related activities;
• Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures for safety and security, standards, and regulations in force and participating in their improvement;
• Resolving various problems and related complaints and implementing corrective measures and process improvements;
• Managing customer retention and seeking organic growth opportunities and new business opportunities;
• Staying up to date with Market Knowledge and providing continuous updates to the Team;
• Requisitioning freight rates for import and export and managing tariffs;
• Ensure smooth operation of computer import and export systems (CargoWise) and perform periodic system audits for data accuracy;
• Conducting performance reviews of supervised workers and implementing new policies;
• Reviewing and monitoring data input into the CargoWise operating system for import, export and intermodal shipments;
• LCL Import consolidation handling through coordination with partners or agents around the globe, bonded WHs in Canada, co-loaders, and customers;
• Communicating with sub-contractors and handling import/export shipments;
• Procuring freight rates and updating and maintaining ocean, air, and road transport-related activities in the CargoWise operating system; and
• Any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ proven work experience in the freight forwarding industry especially in Managing Sea Freight imports and exports;
• 2+ years managing Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments for both Import and Exports.

• Strong organizational and time management skills;
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• A high degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality;
• Proficiency in other languages other than Asia, specifically languages used in Asia is an asset;
• Completion of post-secondary school is required; in international trade, transportation, logistics, or a related field;
• Possession of certifications such as CIFFA (Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association) can be an asset. Other relevant certifications in transportation and logistics may also be valued
