St. Lawrence Uppercut Meat Packers Ltd. is looking for a skilled Butcher to provide high-quality meats and services to our customers.
Job Duties include:
• Cut and trim meat from larger, wholesale portions into steaks, chops, roasts, and other cuts
• weigh, wrap, price, and put out meat for display
• Greet and speak to customers, providing advice, answering questions, and accepting orders or payments.
• Prepare special cuts of meat upon request of customers
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment such as knives, grinders, and saws.
• Adhere to food safety standards and sanitation controls
• Ensure meat storage conditions meet safety standards by regularly checking temperature and performing quality inspections
• Perform any other related duties, as needed.
Wages: $22.50/hr. for 40 hrs/week

Qualifications:
• Completion of high school is required.
• Previous experience as a butcher or any other related experience is required.
• Food Handler Certificate & Food Safety Certificate OR the ability to acquire one before employment start date is required
• Courteous, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented
• Must have strong understanding of meat quality, cuts, and preparation
• Must be physically and mentally fit.
• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work on weekends and holidays
