Requirements:
• Valid driver’s licence
• Completion of a one- or two-year college program in civil engineering technology is required for civil engineering technicians.
• A period of supervised work experience of 2 years is required before certification.
Duties:
• Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials
• Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations
• Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates
• Provide clients with information
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Identifying and investigating compliance issues
• Prepare engineering designs and drawings
• Prepare project schedules
