Daiya Foods Inc. Located at Daiya Foods Inc., 3100 Production Way Burnaby, BC V5A 4R4 - Is an established food manufacturing company. We are conducting interviews for a self-starter, career-oriented, full-time permanent position for an Industrial Electrician.
Candidate must:
• Be able to work in BC legally
• Have reliable transportation and a driver’s licence
Duties
Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate aptitude in:
• Planning daily tasks to accomplish weekly overall schedule provided by the office
• Order and receive materials as required to ensure minimum downtime
• Clear understanding of the latest edition of the Electrical Safety Code
• Lay out and maintain electrical services of 3 phase 400A, 600/347V systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, schematics and electrical codes.
• Have strong communication skills in English - written, verbal and comprehension
• Be able to adhere to schedules and timelines and communicate back to manager regarding daily events and tasks completed.
• Maintain high personal hygiene due to high sanatory standards in food manufacturing.
• Repair and maintain Industrial equipment used on food manufacturing.
• Test electrical equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear at our factory
• Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices in our factory.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
• Occasionally perform physically demanding tasks like moving or lifting heavy objects.
Qualifications
• Qualified electrician from any jurisdiction
• Eligibility from Skill Trades BC to challenge the Industrial Electrician examination in Canada if you do not have it already
Wage and Benefits

• Answer the following questions and add it to you application:
o What is the minimum separation between communication conductors with a non-conducting jacket and a pool?
o How many more #14AWG conductors can be installed in a device box, 3" x 2" x 3" that uses 8 wire connectors?
o If you had 3 transformers hooked up in delta connection rated at 300 KVA for the whole assembly and one transformer was taken out. What would be the KVA or the remainder?
