Title of position: Building Maintenance Worker

Job duties:
- Perform preventative maintenance on guest rooms to operate and maintain the hotel in a safe and comfortable fashion
- Complete all minor repairs to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Make arrangements and co-ordinate with tradespeople for all major repairs and projects that would require their expertise
- Provide general assistance to tradespeople when performing their maintenance on the building and property
- Conduct routine testing on all equipment within guest rooms, including smoke detectors, televisions, remote controls, air conditioning, telephones, cable lines, and telephone jacks
- Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and trim repair, and cleanup of any require minor painting projects
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies through the building, as needed
- Wash windows, walls, and ceilings, and floors, and remove all dust, dirt, and debris from the building
- Perform seasonal labour, such as shovelling and deicing sidewalks, as well as cut grass and maintain flower beds, as necessary
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment related to the performance of these duties
Terms of employment: Full-time; permanent; days, evenings, nights, and weekend shifts
Wage: $22.00/hour

Education required: Completion of high school is required.
Work experience required: Minimum of 1 year of experience in building maintenance or associated trade work is required.
