0.5 Temporary Child Development Counsellor - East Region

Effective Immediately to June 27, 2024 or until the earlier return of the employee

Location: East Region - Sundridge, South River & Surrounding Communities

Reporting to the Mental Health Lead, this position will actively support learning readiness for “at risk” students.

Qualifications:

• Three year Child/Adolescent Youth Worker Diploma
• One to two years experience in a school environment

Skills/Knowledge Required:

• Demonstrated experience in providing counselling related to learning readiness for students and their parents
• Proven ability to provide strategies and programs to assist students in dealing with social, emotional, and behavioural issues
• Ability to act as a liaison between community agencies, the home, the school, and the classroom teachers
• Ability in designing strategies to address and track social skills, time management, study habits, and other areas that effect student success
• Experience working with adolescent youths with behavioural and/or social/emotional issues
• Knowledge of and respect for Indigenous teaching and culture

Additional Requirements :

• Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle

Rate of Pay: $30.91 per hour
