The Financial Analyst will provide support to the Senior Manager of FP&A in the functions of planning and analysis for the business. This role involves producing top quality work while thinking independently and being proactive in anticipating the needs of various stakeholders. This role involves using a critical eye to identify trends, look for opportunities, provide analysis on key measures and report results compared with forecasts. This role also assists cross-functional teams in providing analytics and business cases to support decision making.
What you will do:
- Financial forecasting and analysis
- Reporting on performance vs forecast
- Providing support in the preparation of the AFP (annual financial plan)
- Preparing Ops scorecards on a period or quarter basis
- Calculating payments for Ops incentive program on a regular basis
- Reviewing and reporting on capital asset expenditures
- Periodic reporting to franchisors
- Labour analysis, reconciliation and reporting
- Cost of sales review and analysis
- Collect info and submit online Stats Canada surveys
- Other duties and projects as assigned by Senior Manager, FP&A
What you bring to the role:
- Post-secondary education in business, finance or accounting
- Minimum 3 years of accounting/finance experience and a solid knowledge of accounting principles, previous experience in the field of analysis is an asset
- Strong analytical and reporting skills; accuracy and efficiency are key
- Advanced knowledge and capabilities in spreadsheets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with co-workers in multiple departments
- Capable of working independently using critical thinking skills
