Solmaz For Retail Ltd. established its original business in 2001 as a small butcher and grocery store in Danforth and Pape Avenue in Toronto. The founder, Tahsin Solmaz, highly skilled butcher, started his business with his son, Mehmet Solmaz, using his own created recipes and his specialties soujok (sucuk), pastirma , and kofta (kofte).
Our vision is about meeting consumers’ needs and making food an easier, healthier, more enjoyable part of life.
We are looking for hardworking butchers to join our team.
Job Duties:
Cut, trim and prepare consumer-sized portions of meat for sale.
Prepare and attractively display meat cuts and products on the display counter.
Prepare standard cuts of meat and poultry.
Use power machines to grind and slice meats.
Wrap prepared meats and poultry. - Work with management to determine the amount and types of meat cuts to be prepared.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety and sanitation policies.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
Completion of High School (Preferred);
1+ years experience in a work-related environment;
Ability to stand and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time;
Attention to detail and working well with others;
Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
