Diesel mechanic helper
• Assist diesel mechanics in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines, mechanical systems, and diesel-powered equipment.
• Move tools, equipment, and materials to and from work areas.
• Support the installation, repair, and maintenance of trucks and related systems.
• Help with small engine repairs and basic maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and filter replacements.
• Assist in disassembling and reassembling engine components and mechanical parts.
• Replace worn or damaged parts, like belts, hoses, and batteries, under supervision.
• Clean and organize work areas, tools, machines, and equipment after use, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and tasks completed.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure proper handling of tools and equipment.
• Perform routine checks and address minor issues to keep the fleet operational.
• Signal safety procedures to other workers and the public as needed.
• Assist tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed.
• Perform general labor or other tasks as required.
